Organising an event in Montreux
Who authorises an event, the deadline and who to call.
We are not the Commune. This page puts its public information into English; the office named in each answer decides.
- Do I need permission to organise an event in Montreux?
- Yes. Every event on communal territory must be announced and approved by the Commune, and the formal authorisation comes from Sécurité Riviera. The request goes through the cantonal online form (Pocama), at least one month before the first day.
- Who do I call to use a public place for an event in Montreux?
- For the public domain: 021 962 77 75. For the Place du Marché and the covered market: 021 962 78 04. For sports facilities: 021 962 78 00. General questions: the events office, 021 962 77 68, [email protected].
- Do I need a permit for an event in a hotel or private venue in Montreux?
- Yes. Events on private ground, such as hotels, restaurants or private halls, also go through the Pocama form; the Commune gives an opinion depending on the type of event and Sécurité Riviera issues the authorisation.
