Waste and recycling in Montreux

- When are the mobile waste collection points open?
- On Wednesdays from 14:30 to 18:30 and on Saturdays from 8:30 to 12:30, at a different place each time. They are for households.
- Where do the mobile waste collection points stop?
- Nine places in turn: Montreux (Av. Nestlé 14), Clarens (Rue du Torrent 24), Territet (Ch. du Bocherex 15), Veytaux (Rue du They 1), Glion (Rte de Caux 41), Caux (Ch. de la Patinoire), Chernex (Ch. Sous Villaz), Les Avants (Rte de Sonloup 1) and Vallon de Villard (Rte du Vallon 3). The dates for each place are on the Commune’s page.
- How do I get bulky waste collected in Montreux?
- The Commune runs a pick-up on appointment, usually on Mondays. It costs CHF 80 for up to 3 m³, about a five-seat sofa. Book at least 15 days ahead, by phone; the number is on the Commune’s page. It is for residents of Montreux and Veytaux only, not for businesses.
- Is bulky waste collection free for anyone?
- Yes, for people who receive disability insurance (AI), social assistance (RI) or supplementary benefits (PC). For everyone else it costs CHF 80.
- How must bulky waste be prepared for collection?
- Put it at the roadside, packed in boxes and sorted by type (metal, crockery, plastics, textiles). Bin bags are refused, except the Commune’s white taxed bag. Demolition items such as doors, kitchens or toilets are not taken.

- Where can I buy a waste container in Montreux?
- From Quincaillerie Riviera SA, Avenue Nestlé 25, Vevey (021 922 25 30). Plastic containers cost CHF 70 for 140 or 240 litres, CHF 140 for 360 litres and CHF 385 for 770 litres. Delivery, labelling and taking back the old container are free.
