Which villages make up Montreux?

What is Caux?
The highest village of Montreux, at 1,200 m, reached by train, with ski and cross-country runs and a natural ice rink in winter and walks to the Dent de Jaman and Rochers-de-Naye in summer. What is Les Avants known for?
A village at 1,000 m, at the geographical centre of the commune: narcissus fields in May and the sledge run in winter. The MOB railway reached it in 1901 and the funicular to Sonloup opened on 9 December 1910. Source: www.montreux.ch, read on 3 October 2026.
What is the Old Town of Montreux?
The former villages of Les Planches on one side and Sâles, Chêne and Crin on the other, joined by a bridge over the Baye de Montreux. What do I do if I find an Asian hornet nest in Montreux?
Keep about 5 m away, take a photo, note the place and report it on frelonasiatique.ch. Reporting a nest is compulsory for owners under a Vaud order of 25 March 2026. How do I report a tiger mosquito in Vaud?

How much of Montreux is forest?
