Population Office

- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:00–14:30. Wednesday 8:00–16:00.

- Online, with a citizen account
- Announce a move, order a certificate, ask for the subsidy on annual public-transport passes, declare a dog. The account is created on the virtual counter.
- Not available from the Commune
- Criminal record extracts are a federal procedure. Since April 2023 the Commune no longer issues certificates of good conduct (actes de mœurs); it provides a letter saying so.

General administration

Route des Châtaigniers 13bis, Chailly. Closed on public holidays, and it closes at 16:00 the day before one. Each household in Montreux and Veytaux receives a free household card (carte Ménage), which also opens the mobile collection points and ecopoints. It can be shared only within the household. A lost card is replaced for CHF 20; a faulty one is replaced free. Waste from renovation or demolition is charged.
Businesses of Montreux and Veytaux can buy a business card for CHF 20; it opens the fixed centre only, and most waste is charged CHF 40 per vehicle.
Resident card (carte habitant·e)
A digital card for people domiciled in Montreux. It proves where you live without a paper bill, and gives offers at partner restaurants, shops and other businesses. You download it from the virtual counter with your citizen account. It does not replace the waste centre card. The partners set their own offers.
Resident parking permit (macaron)
CHF 300 a year since 1 January 2024. The application is made online with Sécurité Riviera. For street rates and free hours, see parking.
Day passes for residents
- SBB day pass
- Check availability on cartejournaliere-commune.ch, then collect it at the Montreux tourist office. The quota is national. Information: 0848 86 84 84.
- CGN boat day card
- At the tourist office from the end of March to the end of November. First class: CHF 45 for an adult instead of CHF 90; CHF 22.50 for children aged 6 to 16 and half-fare holders.
